The City was first mentioned in Wild World as Harriet says: "I've got to remember I don't own a salon in the city anymore." Able & Sable from the Able Sisters reveal how Tom Nook had "big plans" in the city.

The City in City Folk is a Shopping District with all sorts of shops.
